When the Buffalo Sabres changed their jerseys in time for the 2006-07 season, many thought there was some mistake. The colours were fine since they reverted back to the old blue, yellow, and white, but the logo - that all important thing in the middle - was all wrong. It was tiny. It seemed to rip off the University of Manitoba Bisons. It looked like an awful hairpiece belonging to Donald Trump. But worst of all some fans and media branded it the "Buffaslug," signalling its quick demise. The Sabres are now using their original logo for the team's 40th anniversary this season.
