So, is the soccer world ready for a gay player, or possibly a relationship between teammates? Maybe, maybe not. Earlier this year, a photograph of Barcelona stars Gerard Pique and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in what appeared to be a loving, off-field embrace started rumours swirling that the duo was romantically involved. Ibrahimovic was quick to shoot down the speculation, telling a female reporter he'd be happy to prove his heterosexuality if she came to his house...and brought her sister. Outside, attitudes may be changing fast. But inside the locker room, many old fears and prejudices live on.
