As the only Canadian market in a 30-team league comprised of predominantly American players, the Toronto Raptors are going to have their challenges. Aside from the days of bringing in over-the-hill stars like Charles Oakley, Antonio Davis and Hakeem Olajuwon, the Raps have had a difficult time retaining their elite players. Sure, former face of the franchise Vince Carter re-signed with the team, but then couldn't leave town quick enough when things didn't go his way. Chris Bosh and Hedo Turkoglu also skipped town in the offseason, saying goodbye to the city in a less-than-friendly manner in the process.
