Though he defeated boxing's greatest contemporary star Saturday night, there is no love today for Timothy Bradley. That's because the welterweight, who won a heavily contested decision over Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas, is part of what some are calling a conspiracy to hand the new champ the belt.
Despite most journalists and analysts scoring the bout for Pacquiao, judges saw that it was Bradley's hand raised to a chorus of boos inside the ring at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. "You could take anybody in the world who didn't know a damn thing about boxing - never saw a fight in their life - and if you asked them to judge this fight, no one could have said that Pacquiao (above, right) didn't win," noted former boxing trainer John Russell. Conspiracy? Only time will tell if the notorious Pacquiao-Bradley decision can be mentioned alongside these famous sports conspiracy theories.
