Despite the controversy around the Oilers Octane girls, they're not the first cheerleading team to entertain fans in Edmonton, Canada's City of Champions. The Eskimos have their own cheer squad, just like every other CFL team. In fact, the Octane's assistant coach and chief choreographers are both former members of the Eskimos cheer team.

Canadian football fans from coast to coast have long enjoyed local cheerleading teams. In Calgary, the girls of the Outriders dance squad offer sultry sideline entertainment at Stampeders games.
