Keep that helmet on
The roof is coming down at Commonwealth Stadium, and not because CFL fans are bringing it there. While working in the steam room of the Edmonton Eskimos home earlier this month, a man was pinned underneath a pile of rubble when the ceiling caved in. Emergency crews needed a hydraulic power life to free the stadium worker, but he will be fine after spending a few days in hospital.
Stadium collapses are nothing new, though regrettably a minor hospital stay often means getting off light when arenas fall apart. In light of the crumpling of Commonwealth Stadium, seen above last year, MSN looks back at the other tragic collapses of major sports arenas.
