Billed as the pride of the state, Malaysia's Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium was supposed to the one of the finest sports complexes in the east, holding 50,000 spectators and hosting the Malaysian Games in its debut year, 2008. But in 2009, the arena's entire roof collapsed under normal weather conditions, reducing much of the stadium to rubble. No one was hurt in the wreck, but witnesses reported sounds as loud as jet engines as the roof caved in. The stadium is on track to reopen this year.
